It smells a little like honey and it kind of reminds me of Rihanna's perfume the black bottle. It is a strong scent for during the day or everyday use. I would not use this scent for the day time I think it is too strong. I enjoy how long it last on my skin and how sensual it smells. I got compliments from my boyfriend and some of my friends. I received the trial size from Influenster.com to try out and I thank them a lot because I absolutely love this perfume.#YSLblackopium #Influenster

Every time I wear it, someone asks me what scent it is and my boyfriend absolutely adores it. I always get a “Mmmm you smell so goooood” whenever he hugs me and he buries his face into my neck lol It’s very youthful but definitely has a sensual mature side to it as well. Sexiest, most addicting fragrance in my collection, hands down. I can’t get enough of this scent I swear to god lol it’s euphoria in a frickin’ bottle. If it ever discontinues, I will discontinue myself lol

However, black opium is such a pleasant smell. I received a complimentary bottle and had never tested out any YSL fragrance before. The packaging is beautiful and totally fits the fragrance. It gives off a vanilla coffee scent. I love coffee so I think that’s why I really love this fragrance. This wouldn’t be my everyday scent but it definitely is a going out/dinner date fragrance; seductive yet feminine. My husband who also has a particular preference in fragrance actually loves the smell and was surprised it smelled nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, I got this as a sample when I purchased a full size bottle of an Hermes perfume (that I then realized I don't like, wth?!). Will still be purchasing a full size of this soon. I didn't pick up on the coffee but I did get a heavy vanilla scent. What's so good about this perfume is that normally, when you think vanilla you think sugary sweet frosting scents but this is headier and heavier. It smells like "baking" but not like sweets if that makes any sense. I love more masculine notes and this seems to be "vanilla for a dude" (if that also makes any sense). It's really quite sexy and lovely.

It breaks my heart to admit it, because I love it so much, but it fades out in about 3 hours ish. That being said, I love this stuff. It smells incredible. I love the way it smells on my skin so I don't mind reapplying once or twice a day. Plus, I have never had so many compliments, nor so many people sniff me in my entire life. One guy said it best: it smells sexy, without being over powering and radiates confidence. Another guy said I smelled delicious and that it made him salivate every time he had to walk by me. My husband can't keep his hands off me whenever I wear it! I looove this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up seeing my mother's bottle of the original Opium fragrance sitting on her vanity and remember how intrigued I always was with the packaging. Black Opium has the same distinctive bottle with a much more chic and sexy look. Once I tried it on I was instantly hooked! Seductive, Delicious, and Sophisticated.. it is NOT you typical vanilla scent. The strength of coffee hits you at first but then mellows out and blends seamlessly with the sweet vanilla. It only gets better as time passes. I will definitely be using this for a very very long time. I just LOVE it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mebeval from intoxicating - a must have I would bathe in this if I could. I’ve gone through several bottles and couldn’t love it more. Sweet and sexy at the same time. I love spicy orientals and nothing is quite like this. Great staying power without being obnoxious. Works for day or night all year round. Unfortunately, my family can’t seem to stand this fragrance on me so I often switch to other scents. If you like Tom Ford Black Orchid, Lolita Lempicka, Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black, Kat Von D Saint, Kate Walsh Boyfriend, and/or Lancôme La Vie est Belle give this a try! You’ll love it too!

This one, however, wasn't very unique but is AMAZING. I say it's not unique because once it dries down, it smells EXACTLY like Viktor & Rolfs BonBon with a hint of D&G Dolce & Gabanna (red lid). It's sweet, but it's a warm sweet...not that sugary , over-powering, nose-burning sweet. As soon as I sprayed it on, my husband was obsessed too. If you haven't watched the TV advert for this fragrance, the model in the commercial sums up what this perfume is. A young, chic, dark, sexy and mysterious woman in a trench coat.
