It's a classic scent that has been around for as long as I can remember and while I do like it, I'm not in love with it and therefore, the sample sizes I receive usually get stuffed inside my glove box or purse for those emergency times when you've got nothing else, so this is a safe bet... I wish Clinique would put out some samples of their other scents though. Especially during COVID because the stores all have limited hours and who wants to buy scents they haven't smelled before? Nevertheless, Clinique Happy is a great scent and I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by allycat529 from Permanently stuck in my memory. My mom wore this for probably a few months in the late 1990s, and ever since then, I associate it with her. I can be out in public and smell it, and I'm turning around looking for her, even though she hasn't worn it since I was a child. The scent itself is citrusy, bright, almost to the point of being plasticky. I know there are florals in it, but they get pretty lost in the grapefruit. It doesn't smell very good on me, but I keep a mini size around to smell when I miss my mom the most. I have to say, though, if this scent sticks in my mind after almost twenty years, maybe there is something special about it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lynne from Watered down formula/ changed the fragrance I have worn happy for many years and I am very saddened that you have chosen to change the formula or whatever you have done. I am so unhappy with the change and will no longer purchase it. I refuse to pay the same price for a fragrance that is gone in 10 minutes. When something's this wonderful why tamper with it. I am actually very angry and feel cheated. The same seems to be true for Happy Heart. You have lost a truly loyal customer. Please let me know if you ever change it back. Do you think people are stupid? You ought to be ashamed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by socialitebaby from I remember my older sister getting a gift set of Clinique Happy years ago from a boyfriend and I loved the smell on her, even snuck a few sprays once in awhile for myself! When I went on the search for a new perfume for daytime I was immediately drawn to this one. I bought the 1 oz and immediately fell in love with it again! It's such a light and citrusy fragrance that it would be easy for nearly any woman to pull off! My biggest complaint is that I don't feel it lasts long with one spray. I find it tends to be completely worn off in 2-3 hours on me while 2 sprays will put it over the top strong at first while encouraging it to last longer (4-6 hours). I now carry it in my purse so I can have a burst of freshness whenever I need it!

I just purchased a set that included a full size perfume, a roller ball perfume and a small body lotion. I've worn the new perfume three times. Spray it on and in less than an hour you'd never know I had perfume on. This is definitely not the same as it was and if I had not thrown away my packaging and receipt it would be going back.

Ive had so many compliments over the years. I have noticed in the past 5 yrs that the perfume goes bad close to 2 yrs. I tell my kids to get me the 1.7 size. I did see the price went up since they last bought it for me in 2010. It must be good because its been on the market all these years. Ive tried so many other perfumes and this is the best for me!

They changed the formula or something because this barely smells and doesn't last a minute! I sprayed it all over my shirt to test and then 5 minutes later, I couldn't even smell it on my clothes! Now I have to find a different go to perfume. I miss the original Happy!

I am very sensitive to perfume (you might even say allergic) and it makes me feel ill. One time I got a Happy sample in a gift pack, and I thought maybe it's not too bad, because Clinique specializes in fragrance free, for sensitive skin, etc. --wrong! One little spritz and I had a booming headache, burning eyes, and felt very unwell from the overwhelming aroma. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it as perfumes go - I'm just saying, this is real perfume, and if you are sensitive to strong scents, stay far away.
