Shiny and smooth

I received this Kerastase genesis shampoo as a complimentary sample. The bottle is compact, which makes it easy to travel with. I like that the bottle is transparent, so I can easily see how much product is left/used. When using this shampoo, I instantly smelled the clean citrus scent. It gave a very clean feeling. The shampoo creates a lot of foam which makes it easy to spread through your scalp and hair. I did not feel like I needed to keep reapplying as this foam lasted and allowed me to really work the shampoo into my hair. I have pretty long hair so I usually need to reapply shampoo as the foam dies off, but this had a good lifespan and let me get to all spots with one application. The shampoo claims to detangle, which at first, I did not agree with. When my hair was wet, I felt it was tougher to brush through. I could feel a texture change in my hair almost immediately. However, once I managed to comb it out and or air dried, I was amazed by the smoothness. My hair was extremely shiny and I didn’t have any frizz, which is almost impossible to achieve when air drying my hair. I found my hair to look sleek without it being weighed down, and my natural waves were still apparent. Overall, I still found myself washing my hair the usual amount of times per week, so I didn’t feel it make a difference in my oil production. However, I did feel it prompted a smoother texture and made my hair look healthy. I would recommend this shampoo!

Almost perfect

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] So this shampoo is very clarifying, but still leaves my hair soft after use. I have fine, average density 4b hair and I use this once a week. I wash my hair twice a week and found that while I can use it, I did need to switch my styling cream /leave in routine so that my hair didn't feel too dry. If I use anything lighter than grease/a heavy butter, I find a single wash is fine. Two lathers can be too much if I just used a oil, cream, or gel. It does say this is for normal to oily hair so that is fine. That being said, I've noticed less breakage in the shower when I wash and my coils are very defined even when using the same stylers as before and nearly no manipulation/combs. I just mist, fluff, and the coils are there! I tried it with the matching conditioner and my other conditioners and I like it best in the set. It seems to soften the hair in prep for the conditioner whereas it's too stripping for most of my other conditioners. My biggest downside is that it's a bit too strong for my already dry-prone scalp and can leave it dry after washes. I have a scalp serum that I use that does the trick, but a touch more hydrating would be amazing.

Decent

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] The smell is good, however, it is a bit on the stronger side. It feels nice but I wouldn’t recommend it over other shampoos which are more effective and budget friendly. It’s a decent product, but not worth the money imo.

Great product!

I have been using this product a couple weeks now and love it. It leaves my hair feeling clean for a couple days. I can go longer without shampooing now. I also love the scent. The only thing I didn’t like is the cap, I don’t want to have to screw it off and on.

Nice shampoo

Really like how this shampoo leaves my hair soft and fresh. It lathers nicely and keeps my scalp balanced. I’ve seen a big improvement in reducing hair fall from breakage. Took off one star because the scent is strong, but overall a solid choice

My Hair Loves This Stuff

This shampoo makes my hair feel so clean without stripping it. It lathers nice, rinses out easily, and leaves my scalp fresh and clean. I've noticed less shedding and breakage since using it.

Great product, odd bottle tops

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I'd give this 4.5 stars. Love the actual product but the tops to the bottles are annoying when actually using the product. I prefer not having to set a cap down somewhere for hair products meant for the shower. That being said, the shampoo cleaned my fine hair very well. It didn't smell strong when using, but after my hair was dry I would occasionally smell a hint of fragrance that was pleasant and perfume-like without being strong. I would purchase even with the disappointing bottle.

Great shampoo, scent is borderline too strong

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I have been using this shampoo for a month now, and overall have been very impressed. Starting with packaging, the shampoo bottle is most balanced when sitting on the cap, but then the text reads upside down in this position. Minor, but could be better designed. To administer the shampoo, you squeeze on the bottle and a semi-solid glob will come out. It is definitely not runny enough for the shampoo to easily come out without squeezing. After a month of use, I am still having no trouble with the squeeze. The scent is lovely, almost a floral-y scent that lasts all day long. As someone who can be sensitive to smells, this can sometimes be too strong, but it’s just light enough that I still am willing to use it. The shampoo itself cleans amazingly. A small amount goes a long way, especially when my hair is extra greasy. This is the only shampoo where I don’t feel the need for a second wash in order to be fully clean. Lastly, I always check the ingredients in my beauty products. While this shampoo is not all gold stars, I don’t feel alarmed by the safety of the ingredients included, and feel comfortable using this in my hair.

Amazing
