NIGHT SHIFT

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Wow, this Valentino born in Roma purple melancholia is such a divine smell. I put myself wearing this on a date night or at a business dinner. It smells sophisticated, but also sweet at the same time. It is definitely a darker fragrance, which is why I lean towards a nighttime spray.

Very flattering scent!!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I don’t usually like floral scents but this perfume smells so amazing. The scent notes have plum, jasmine and vanilla. They all work well together in this perfume to give a warm but slight sweet with a hint of floral that isn’t overpowering. It’s great for everyday or even for a night out. Personally with my body, it’s a bit of a more sultry scent that I feel fits winter and fall seasons more. It also lasts such a long time (dare I say longer than one of my other luxury perfumes almost 2x the price). This is a great perfume at such an amazing price point too. The packaging feels very luxe and great quality. The spray is very even and not harsh. Got so many compliments when I wore this perfume and I found myself sniffing my wrist often.

Moody, Unique, and Beautiful

We previously bought the Born in Roma Ivory release, and both of us still agree Ivory had the edge overall for us personally. That said, Valentino Donna Born In Roma Purple Melancholia and Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Purple Melancholia deserve respect in their own lane. This limited-edition line feels darker, smoother, and more atmospheric, with a moodier aura that stands apart from some of the other Born in Roma releases. Valentino’s own positioning leans into memory, introspection, and emotion, and that really does come through in the scent profiles.  The Donna version comes across as rich and elegant with a soft plum sweetness and vanilla depth that gives it a deep, feminine, almost melancholic feel without becoming too heavy. The Uomo version is smooth, aromatic, and very wearable, with cardamom, lavender, and a creamy coconut accord that give it a slightly mysterious edge while still feeling masculine and refined. Those note structures are a big part of why this pair feels so distinctive and atmospheric.  What I like most is that this release has its own identity. It does not feel like it is trying to be Ivory, and I think that is why it deserves to be appreciated on its own terms. Ivory may still be our favorite, but Purple Melancholia feels more introspective, more atmospheric, and more about mood. The purple bottles also fit that darker aura perfectly.  Since this is a limited-edition release, I really do think it is worth picking up before it is gone. It feels like the kind of line people will look back on later and wish they had grabbed while it was still available. Easy 5 stars from both of us.

Very plummy 💜

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Very plum forward, the dry down is nice with a slight vanilla note. Took a bit to grow on me because it reminded me of cough syrup? Highly recommend sampling this in store before buying. Makes the perfect fall/winter set and I love the signature Valentino bottle 💜💜

Currently Obsessed!!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I’m absolutely loving this scent. I love the lasting power and how it lingers even after you think it’s faded. As someone who adores the Valentino scents, this might be in the top two. For a perfume that’s got notes of intense vanilla, it’s not at all overpowering and holds a level of sensual maturity. Definitely will be repurchasing and wearing on nights out/special occasions!

Great for any occasion

You can definitely smell the hints of vanilla which is nice. It is a good perfume to wear any type of day and get compliments for it.

Luxury in a bottle
